So today for my Content and Copywriting course, I was asked to look at the Content Marketing Institute’s article called Go Behind the Scenes of Coca-Cola’s Storytelling. Which as the title alludes to talks about how Coke comes up with their ads and why they choose to do it this way. Then as I am doing now I am to write about our personal thoughts/takeaways from the article and video, aww is there a more school-related statement “ what is your take away from blank”. Anyway, let me truly being as I really enjoyed this article.
Let me say this now no matter what you think about Coke as a company or a drink, I think most people will agree that their ads are beautiful and interesting… for the most part, and truthful they have created a good amount of content that has reminded me that I want to work in this field of marketing.
So, with that said here are my takeaways (in my signal bullet list style):
- To keeping things timeless but up to date.
- That sometimes customers make the best content.
- That an ad can be impactful and heartwarming, not just a stale pitch for a product.
- It made me more open and excited about what kinds of content I could be apart of creating in my career.
- Makes me realize the potential power and creativity behind the question “What if?”.
- While I don’t plan on working for a huge company or even a beverage company like Coke it made me really look at what a leading company in their field is currently doing.
Overall, reading this article made me really look forward to one day getting into this field. The ideas and emotional reasons that can come from these ads are really motivating. I love getting assignments like this that show real-world examples and dives deeper into them. It makes my education feel more tangible and relevant… which as we know is a keyword for marketers. Anyway, I highly recommend you check out the original article and video, it covers a lot of interesting information and examples that can be very beneficial.
