E-commerce Store

store dashboard

I had to make a store this fall for an e-commerce course. They had to be added to our already existing websites and published for our class and instructor to review. Mine was for an ethical fashion boutique. I used Woocommerces and Stripe payment as my main add on plugins. Here below are some stills of my site and my overall thoughts.

Picture of Store information.
This was kept simple and to the point because I know as a customer how frustrating it can be when information is hidden.

While this looks like a lot I removed some of the more complicated words to make it easier to read in hopes that more people will.
My fake fashion products.
Building out the shop was not my strong suit, I couldn’t figure out how to make products have a different size or color options.
The shopping cart.
There’s not to say here I think the cart looks good.
Checkout form page for store.
This page looks pretty standard. Which for me was the goal, so overall I was happy with it.
My account page for store
The Account page could have been better, it is very plain.

Overall with no experience building or working on an e-commerce store before I think I did okay. I would like to be able to spend some money on buying the services I think to work the best (within a budget) versus only using what is free. However, I do recognize that for many small businesses that is how they start. So it was a wonderful experience to see what I could do with my time limit, lack of budget and knowledge. It pushed me to look at e-commerce stores differently and appreciate them in a way I had not before.
